About the Illustrator

Lauren is a surface designer and illustrator who creates punchy, hand-drawn, nature-inspired illustrations from her studio in Providence, Rhode Island. In addition to licensing her work she welcomes commissioned projects. Lauren is also a proud member of Illustrators for Hire.

With her BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, she sidestepped into more than a decade of experience as an in-house graphic and UI designer. This has influenced her freelance career: she’s been on the hiring side! A reliable freelancer who communicates clearly, contributes quality work, and delivers on schedule makes work so much easier, so those are her guiding principles.

When Lauren isn’t filling sketchbooks with drawings she likes to bake (current project: sourdough baguettes), practice yoga, work in her vegetable garden (this year’s experiment: soy), and study languages (right now: French). She lives with two unofficial art directors—her husband and her daughter—and their cat, who is in charge of stepping on the keyboard when nobody’s looking.
